If the drawings of the valves in their positions is correct, they are stating the 'L' is a 2 position 3 way.

I use a 3 position 3 way. Blocked center, then select port to go to A or B outlets/inlets (what you application is). I use one pump to do the work of two by using two of these valves. Select my inlet source (MLT or HLT) then select the output source (MLT/BK/HLT) with 3rd 2pos/2way valve.

Picture? Do you have a manifold set up? I have a direct-fire MLT and am set up horizontal and have 2 pumps. I am thinking HLT & MLT into one pump that can serve MLT or BK. BK into 2nd pump that can serve BK (for recirc) or HopRocket->Therminator->Fermenter.

Looking at 4 L-type valves

I am not at the computer, but have this one to show. You can see the ball valves on the inlet and outlet of the single pump on my 2nd MLT/HLT cart. cart #1 is the BK cart with its own pump and counter flow heat exchanger.

The pump inlet valve is the most visible. I have a schematic. Let me dig that up.

The RIMS cart is in the background.

Kbar - that's nice looking. For sure. I am not that polished. I have one pump mounted in a toolbox for portability and one I am going to try to hang on the kettle from the Q/D...it worked last week but I did not have a 3-way on the end of it.
