Will this work for a keggle?

Mon May 16, 2011 6:47 am

A friend gave me a keg that he had because he heard I was looking for one. The bad part is that it is about half full of 3 year old beer.

Will the old beer leave crap on the keg walls? If so, will it come off with PBW? I was planning of using PBW anyway to clean it but I don't want to spend the time and money to convert it if it's not going to work.

Thanks!

Won't be a problem. I use a keg that sat under a tree for three seasons outdoors with beer in it for a fermenter. Just so a PBW soak and clean it really well, then inspect to make sure. From my experience I haven't seen a keg yet that can not be cleaned.

+1 for sure. I use sankes throughout my system and my BK was originally used to store ag chemicals. Old beer isn't shit. If PBW doesn't get everything (I'd be surprised) Bar Keepers Friend will take care of it.

It's Stainless Steel. You can clean it up fine.
