I finally decided to buy an oxygenation setup and morebeer is "temporarily out of stock." Northern Brewer doesn't list them for sale, and Midwest is also out of stock. Is there some major supply chain issues here or what. *kicking myself* why did I wait so long for this equipment upgrade?

You can go to Lowes or Home Depot and buy an MPP/Oxygen torch and use the regulator from that

Then go to http://www.williamsbrewing.com/22-AERATION-WAND-P490C106.aspx and get an aeration wand.

I noticed that as well. Is it short supply or is the disposable system turing out to be bad or difficult for the homebrew setup?

William's Brewing still has them. I just got the regulator to build the rest myself. You can not beat the $20 for the regulator anywhere. I did not like their wand setup so plan to do my own.

I don't quite understand your question. I have not had any problem using it.

What don't you like about the wand?

Liquid Bread used to make a product called the Oxygenator which runs on the disposable bottles. THis is what I have, but they discontinued it a while ago.
The home depots around me stopped carrying the disposable O2 bottles, so I stocked up a while ago.

Whats the whole advantages to using this expensive metal wand and metal stone? I bought some tubing and fish tank diffusion stones from wal-mart and they worked great last weekend. Just used a fish tank pump too instead of the expensive O2 tanks. Enlighten me to the pros of the expensive wands

i like the wand better than my tube and stone because it is easier to heat sanitize and the rigidity makes it a little easier to work with. i heat sanitize my fermenter (a 1/2bbl sanke keg) with steam and i just throw the whole wand in there at the same time to sanitize both.

Just with the sudden shortage of parts and complete systems I was wondering if the major carriers have found that this disposable system is very faulty or difficult to control the flow of O2 and they have decided to stop selling the system.

I plan to make my own rigid wand. I don't like the looks or description from Williams because sanitation seems difficult with a wand that does not come apart for cleaning.
