Not sure which toy to buy next!

I recently moved to 10 gallon batches and am having issues with tons of break material in my keggle. My next purchase will be either the hop rocket or sabco false bottom with pick up tube. I like the idea of the hop rocket but I dont have a need for hop back in all my beers. If you guys where to choose which would you go for? I dont have a conical so I cant dump my trub. All I want is wort free of excess cold break. By the way I have a pump and use an IC to chill in kettle.

Have you thought about a kettle screen instead of a false bottom? They are atleast half the price of a false bottom, allowing you to get more items.

You say you have a pump and an IC.... Whilrpool and the end of boil and let it sit for 30 min before transfer. Use a pick up tube placed at the wall of your kettle. You may get a small amount of break in your transfer, but, certainly not an amount to worry about. No false bottom, screen, or hop rocket required.

I thought this post was about Adam and Eve.

I tried my hand at wirlpooling on my last batch with limited if any success. Right now i just drain from the keggle without the angled pick up tube. Does the pickup tube make that much of a difference? The sabco false bottom looks like it would make it easy to get every last drop out of the keggle, plus I could use it later on as a direct fired mash tun when I upgrade other equipment. On the other hand the hop rocket seems like a less expensive option, I wonder if you could fill it with sanitized grain bags to filter trub? I know tasty mentioned trying rice hulls. If that was the case it would be the prefered option.

I think a false bottom would qualify as an adam and eve topic for most home brewers.

Fake boobs sound more appealing than false bottoms...

I used a keggle for years to make 10 gallon batches and was never able to do a full volume 90 minute boil or get a satisfactory whirlpool. I upgraded to a 26 gallon clad bottom kettle. I could then do full volume boils and got excellent whirlpools. My beers improved drastically.
