I've never used one of these before.
When I'm finished:
1) Do I just soak it in Star San for a few minutes, then let it air dry?
2) Do I leave it attached to the oxygen bottle, or should I(can I) remove it?
3) Do I need to cover the stone or protect it in some way or is ok to be out in the open?

1) That's what I always did with mine. Every now and then I'd boil it in plain water.
2) Detach it. It'll unscrew.
3) I have a drawer that I put mine in, though I never take it out of the hose.

Get an inline HEPA filter for the line above the wand too. That will ensure the gas coming out of the cannister and into the beer is clean. They are only 5 bucks at Northern Brewer.

I soak my in the Conical during the boil phase of the brewing day, in StarSan. Also, when doing the CIP loop with StarSan on the brew cart, in the boil pot. 160F CIP loop and Acid sanitizer.

I boil mine after use and than store it in a bag ( I have a different oxygen setup now, but use to have that one and mine unscrewed). Before use I also throw it in with the conical with Star San

A question:

What size aeration stone do you all use with the O2 tanks - .2 or .5 micron - and does size ( down pervs) determine how long to aerate?

1. Soak it in PBW after use. Sanitize before next use.
2. Remove the regulator from the bottle to prevent accidental leak down (left hand threads)
3. It ok to leave it in the open, just sanitize before using it.

I use 2 and let it I turn on when I'm down to pitching temp using my therminator (connected to the outside)

If and when it starts to act clogged, you can clean it by boiling. Make sure to never touch it with bare hands as the oils from your skin will clog it. I have gotten in the habit of boiling every other time I use it.
