Hi All
I am setting up my first brew system and I want to split one propane tank line to two burners. Can anyone tell me what exactly I need to be asking for as I call around? What kind of store carries something like that? Is their a good online source for the gear I need to do this that anyone can recommend?
Thanks

I answered my own question. I was just out at the local big box store and found a two way valve and extra propane lines. Thing is that the propane tank was $30.00 and the two way splitter and the extra lines would have been at least $45.00. So I bought two tanks and figure I will need to make far fewer trips to refill the propane. No need for a splitter after all.

I did this on the cheap myself. The fittings at the ends of the hoses are 1/2 NPT and I just got a few simple valves, close nipples, elbows, etc... and made me a splitter. Also, since the brew cart can be disassembled for travel I put regular air line quick disconnects in line to make it easier to disassemble.

Sounds good Tim
As I am building my stand I see that I am probably going to need hose extensions anyway so the splitter option would not have been much more expensive. I am going to research those quick disconnects because they sound handy.

OOPSE......I apologize, I think its more like 1/4 NPT. Take the end of the hose where it threads into the regulator and check it out. I'll try to go out and take pics of mine so you get an idea. It'll take me a while as I'm on crutches.

This is the best pic I've got close-up of the back side. I put a close nipple in the regulator, then a tee then the respective fittings going in each direction. You can see they are 1/4 NPT by the indicator on the valve.

A bit farther back

Thanks TimO! Even when on crutches you step up and take these very helpful photos. That is what makes this a great board.
I like the permanence of the rig and the use of ball valves. I had not thought about the need for the ball valves. My burners do not have valves built in so I see that they would be critical.

I hope you are not using the white teflon tape on those threaded propane pipe connections.
If you did, I would suggest you take them apart and re-tape with the yellow gas thread tape.
