REALLY!! 12 fucking hours immersed to activate the son of a bitchin' probe?!?! FUCK!!!! I was hoping to test mash tonight for my Tripel tomorrow.

Then the god damned instructions say to store the meter in solution for 12 hours. Not the probe. That doesn't make any fucking sense. I'm not putting the whole thing in the solution.

So, I can't calibrate til tomorrow. No test mash. I'm going for the gusto.

What kind of meter is it? You are right only the probe goes into the storage solution. But a 12+ hr submersion time in storage solution is usual for pH meters.

Get PH strips and Brew!! Although, I will research PH meters more now.........

Hell, this is an old thread.

NO strips. I like calibrating my meter before each brewday now. Knowing I'm at 5.34pH today on my Saison is so much more comfortable than looking at those damn strips.
