Could someone please tell me the diameter of the hole on a sanke keg with the spear/valve removed?

Thanks

Do a search. I remember seeing a drawing from a Chinese company that manufactured them that had all the dimensions.

You're welcome. I use a 2" hole saw as a pivot for a a jig to hold an angle grinder for cutting the tops off. Which is why I assume you are asking.

Actually, I'm going to try and use a sanke as a 10 gallon fermenter.

Remove spear/valve, insert wort, use stopper & airlock until fermentation is done, replace spear, transfer to corney kegs.

Just an experiment. Thanks again

Try this. Get a commercial keg coupler and remove the one way valve(gas in only) on gas side. After transferring wort, install spear and attach keg coupler and blow off tube to gas side. Ferment until about 4-8 pts above expected terminal gravity. Remove keg coupler to close off keg allowing beer to carbonate naturally. Make a closed transfer under pressure to purged keg.

This is what I do. The fermenting beer nevers sees oxygen after pitching.
