I am in the process of putting together my sculpture piece by piece. You guys know how it is. As I was looking around at burners I saw this temp control unit. I'm not really good with wiring and am not sure when I would be able to 1.) afford 2.) have the time to add the love controls that many of you use. This might be good for someone like me. I would love some some thoughts about this!

I can see you using this for a RIMS system. That is, a direct fired mash. As far as for a boil kettle, I would see no use for it, as i am sure that if you are chilling by ways of recirculation through a chiller and back into your kettle, you are not using the burner. If you are not using the burner, im sure the temp controller isnt working for you. Also, don't we all know that boiling wort is 212 F? I would think this would be useful when you are working at above boiling temps....like you don't want to fry a turkey at the same temp as homemade potato chips. 350 vs. 450. Plus +/- temp deviation must be taken into consideration, especially if used for a mash.
I would just T in a stainless steel thermometer to your recirculation piping.

Seems to me it would be pretty nice for the HLT, _*IF*_ the temp control is good enough, and _*IF*_ it works in the 150 - 180 F range.
There's not much for detail on that page. If it's not a digital control, and you have to twist the knob and check the temp 10 minutes later, then I'd pass on it.
