I got my keg cut opened last weekend, the guy used a angle grinder with a cutting disk and it was done in 2 min. filed down the edge and it was done, he is going to drill the hole for the ball valve today.

also, i got a Golden Gate style keg from work. I am trying to figure out what to do with it. it is to awkward to use for brewing so i am thinking a fermenting or serving vessel.

Those kegs fill from the side. You remove the wooden bung to clean the keg and fill it. When ready to close it up you pound in a new bung.
