Panel-Mount Timer/Clock???

Does anyone know where to find a relatively inexpensive digital timer that is able to be panel-mounted? Don't need it to have a switch, PID, or much else. Really just a simple timer that I can start/stop, preferably counting either up or down. An alarm or ability to connect to an alarm would also be great.

Something along the lines of this one but a LOT less expensive with less functionality.

I'd like to have 2 mounted, one for the mash and one for the boil...

Also just a VERY simple digital clock?

Thanks for your help!

Well, if you are not afraid of a little soldering, Canakit makes some decent timers - or for a few bucks more, you can buy the assembled unit. I bought their 2 hour countdown timer, and a clock for my panel. Push used one on his panel (http://www.wortomatic.com). You can get them directly from canakit - http://www.canakit.com.

Here is the countdown:

Note: you need to get a 12V AC Center Tap (2 X 6V) transformer for it. As far as an alarm is concerned - you will have to find an auxillary buzzer/flasher.
Here is the one that I am going to use : http://www.westmarine.com/1/1/22584-dua ... ersee.html

I think you can find it elsewhere for a little cheaper.

Redlion is going to be the cheapest panel meter that I can think of. Once you get into the panel mount type meter the price goes through the roof because they are considered industrial. How about using a magnetic timer?

Not exactly a panel clock, but it looks to be a killer brew timer. I haven't used it yet, I need a laptop for my brew area....that's next.

make sure you go to the third page....he has a few versions in that thread.

Yeah, I may just have to use a magnetic kitchen timer for cost alone. But it is amazing that you can get a PID for $45 but a simple panel mount timer is double that or MORE? We're talking about the same technology in a $10 kitchen timer!

You CAN use a kitchen timer. Palmer uses a simple dial type kitchen timer that he mounted to his panel. Works great and LOUD bell.
