cleaning oak barrels and repairing?

has anyone had any experience getting an oak barrel back to scratch.

I have a pair, I have the use of a local micro to fill them.

I am just a little concerned that one has an indented stave - and a tiny leak - would a soak with hot water push that back out?

*edit - found this - http://www.winebarrels.com/carenew.html

I am just going to leave it over night tonight - and load it up to the local brewery - and chuck it on the steam.

It's a 2 used Dornfelder (light red) barrel. I am brewing a Belgian Dubbel and ageing on cherry? dunno yet. I might brett and Pedio it too.

I spend way too much time in the bay area - crazy ideas I come back with.

All times are UTC - 8 hours
