Fermentation Chamber Build

Wed Nov 12, 2008 11:26 pm

I happened to come across several sheets of the foam insulation so i decided to build myself a fermentation chamber. I put everything inside a plastic storage cabinet i had sitting in the yard empty. The whole thing will be outside including when im fermenting.

Inside, I plan on putting dry ice in the lower portion to cool the air

Smaller chamber which fan is in (fan is set to pull air from the top of the chamber)

And heres the little assistant messing with the new pump while I work on cutting the foam

I like the idea of using a premade box. Awesome setup. I wouldn't think you need dry ice unless you can get it free. Frozen water bottles should work fine from what I've read. Cheap and reusable.

I think im going to try out both to see which one will last work better. From my searching I found a local place that has dry ice fairly cheap. I put some expanding foam insulation inside the doors also.. I got lucky because i found some guy on craigslist unloading 16pcs of the foam insulation.

BTW if anyone is local to san francisco and wants some of the foam insulation PM me i have a few extra pcs and since i got them free theyre free to you... just come get em...
