In general it looks good.

1) Keep it simple. Do you REALLY need to have a conical end? Would a flat end work well enough that you won't need to have a special cone end made up for it?
2) Would it make more sense to side-feed it on both ends? How will you stand it up so that it will draw out of the conical end? At those dimensions, given the need for a valve of some sort and the other plumbing, how long will the feet need to be in order to stand it up so that the conical shape will work?
2) Think about how you might be able to get double duty out of it as both a hopback and as something else useful in your brewery -- maybe as a grant?
3) Keep in mind how easy/hard it would be to clean as well.

I'd consider screw threads on both ends and pipe through the sides on both ends.

BDawg made all good points.

My hopback is based on a Bain Marie. http://www.instawares.com/stainless-steel-bain-marie.975109.0.7.htm

I had a full coupler welded to the side at the top and a street elbow into the bottom. I made a false bottom out of perforated stainless and devised a lid clampdown device that is used along with a gasket so that it's air tight.

Mine (2 quart) holds about 4 ounces of whole hops.

Here it is hard-piped to my boil kettle: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3240/3145294394_171b694384.jpg?v=0

You can see my thread with some nice pics about a homemade hopback from a mason jar here:

Pardon the link, but there's no sense retyping all the info from over there.

That's Murphy. A Labradoodle. Pretty good brew dog. I always pull off a few if his dog hairs and put them in the mash. Saves on rice hulls.
