Stir Plate magnetic pellet

Tue Aug 05, 2008 11:22 am

I now have a stir plate and I need one of those Teflon coated magnetic pellets that goes inside of the starter flask. I looked on More Beer and didn't find it. I'd google it but I don't even know what they are called. You guys that have the homemade systems, where did you get yours?

I needed mine in a hurry. I had to go to a lab equipment supply store. Apparently all the meth-heads bought up all the stock at the LHB stores.

Damn Tweekers! I'm waiting for the "drug bust" at my house. Between my wife and I we have a shit-load of science equipment. My wife is (amongst other things) a fiber artist. She has all the equipment and chemicals, scales, hotplates and what-not to custom dye all kinds of natural fibers. I have all my brewing equipment that includes pyrex flasks, scales, burners and now a temperature controlled stir-plate... AND I have my own flameworking studio where I make things out of hot glass, mostly borosilicate but some soft-glass too. I have vials of ground and powdered glass (frit) that I use to make patterns. I have a vial of white ground glass that would stop any cop dead in his tracks. No drugs at my house other than booze, advil, and caffeine but I'm sure the police would trash my house looking!

Thanks. I'll stop by the LHB on the way home. I don't think I need a pack of 10 stir bars, yet  .

Kind of boring ('cuz it isn't beer related) but this is me in my studio - http://www.youtube.com/hotglass
