B3 14 gallon kettle / Boil Screen & Diverter Plate

Tue Jan 23, 2007 9:43 am

I have a B3 14 gallon kettle with a diverter plate around my spigot.

I also have a boil screen that goes above that when I use whole hops.

Has anyone ever used the screen with pellet hops?

The diverter plate is great. I was just curious if the B3 kettle screen will be of added benefit when using pellets. Whirlpool of course.

Thanks in advance,
Carlo :D :D

Nah it is either one or the other. The screen may stop some of the pellets, but not enough I think. Plus, I am not sure if the screen even fits in there with the height of the diverter plate. I have the plate and I love it, works great!

Thanks JP,

I had you guys custom fit the screen to fit over my diverter plate. When I use whole leaf hops the screen is great.

You know, "old & stinky" Saaz that I have been saving just for my wild ales.

I do love my diverter, I just wondered if the 2 together were perhaps better.

NOW I KNOW. Thanks again.. :D :D :D :D :D
