i was thinking of fermenting in a 15 gallon stainless steel kettle. can I somehow add a racking arm to a kettle? i found this arm in the morewine area, but I'm not sure what else to buy or if i can even make it work.

Look at the bottom of the description

Manufactured from 304-type stainless steel with a polished finish. 1.5" tri-clover connection. You will need (2) 1.5" tri-clover clamps, (1) 1.5" teflon gasket, (1) 1.5" EPDM gasket, a 1.5" tri-clover butterfly valve, and of course a tank full of wine or beer with a tri-clover ferrule (fitting) welded on!

You would weld a TC fitting to your fermenter. The left side of the racking arm (as pictured) would pass through the fermenter fitting into the beer. The valve obviously goes on the outside.

Pretty expensive compared to a racking tube, though.
