Hop Rhizomes are in!

I just ordered mine yesterday from fresh hops. I got cascade and northern brewer. I can't wait.

The Nugget hops I planted last year already broke ground and are about 3 ft. tall. I have two Centennial sitting at my LHBS waiting to be picked up, they're not open on Sundays damnit!

I wanted to get a book/resource on growing them. What would be a good first book? The Homebrewer's Garden?

Now they'll have to sit in the fridge for another 4 weeks or so until we thaw out...

Mine arrived yesterday. They too will have to sit in the fridge for 3 or 4 weeks. Just found out we have to move the garden at work before I can plant the hops.

Vinnie Cilurzo recommends using bat guano as a hop fertilizer, but it's $2 a pound ... hey Chad can I borrow Crazy Bitch we all know she's batshit crazy so that would probably work

i got a jumbo rhizome of Mt. Hood and a regular spalt about 10 days ago. i put them in pots until the ground is ready. i already have 6 bines on the jumbo about 5 inches tall and 2 on the regular. hopefully it warms up here in a hurry so i can get these in the ground. my cascade is 5 years old and it's already poking through a little. i can't wait to see how this mt. hood does this year. i may not know the AA of any of these but it beats $50 a pound!

I ordered a cascade and an zeus, and planted them about a week ago. They have yet to pop up but I am checking them every 45 minutes till they do.

It is a little hot out here in the desert but my wifes boss )a plant biologist) says you can, and she has sucessfully grown them here.
