1#5oz of cascades pulled from my garden today and on my dehydrater at 95F.

Any thoughts on how brown is too brown for hop cones? Mine are browning slightly to medium on the sunny side of the trellis.

Those look absolutely horrible. You should mail them to me for proper disposal at once.

But really, they look great & there's nothing I see that wouldn't go in my kettle.

You got to just play it by ear. I always judge my harvest by the papery sound of the hops. Brown is okay if it's dry and not rotting. Smells good then the hops are fine.

I love my hops, but harvesting irritates my skin so bad. Something about the prickly vines that just doesn't agree with my skin. I finally go a vacuum sealer this year so I'm hoping to freeze my harvest.

From what I've heard, it's not unique to you. Hops get you itchy.

Same here...they leave welts on my arms when I go in to cut my bines back after they get overgrown. I've vacuum sealed fresh wet hops and dried hops both successfully. I love my Foodsaver.
