has anyone tried this, my basement stays around 65 to 70 degrees duing the winter with the wood burner going. I was thinking about tossing some rhizomes in pots then transferring them in the spring. Wise idea or will the plang just get too out of control by then?

How did that work for you? The winters where I live are pretty cold (a few weeks of -30 or colder) and I was thinking about doing the same.

Believe it or not plant life needs sunlight (or some kind of light) to complete their photosynthesis processes. your going to have to look into hydroponics and grow lights. Commercial hop growers seem to be ok with letting mother nature take care of their growing season. If it was an advantage to do things the way you've described i'm sure these growers would be doing it.
