I'm organizing a group grain buy from North Country Malt for people in the Washington, DC area. I've also got a thread going on NorthernBrewer. With enough people, shipping can be as low as $5 a bag - so you're looking at $24 for a sack of 2-row, $27.50 for wheat malt, $34 for Marris Otter Pale Ale Malt..... Substantially cheaper than the homebrew stores.

We're doing full sacks of base grains, and 1/4 sack increments of speciality grains. We're already up to 26 sacks of grain - and we just need to hit 37 bags to get the shipping price down to $5/bag.

If you're interested post in the thread, or email me (scott (at) scottmroberts.com) and let me know what you're interested in. No committments needed yet, just want to work up what people want.

If everything goes according to plan I'll be placing the order for the grain in about 10 days.

Thanks,
Scott

I Used to live in Frederick, MD and was a member of FOAM (Frederick's Original Ale Makers - catchy, no?), a pretty large and active club. You may want to let that gang know about your plans, I'm willing to bet that more than a few would be interested in a bulk buy.
