got another 50# sack of Rahr Pilsen. I planned on trying out another malt for my 2nd sack, but the closest HBS had either this or Simpsons Golden Promise, which was about $65. I stared at it for a while, contemplating. in the end, back to what I know. is there any base you sock monkeys get religiously?

+1 GP Fawcett or Simpsons, thinking about some Optic or Halcyon too!

I am a huge fan of the Fawcett Maris Otter. It gives you an awesome British biscuity malt flavor. :jnj

My three go-to's are Fawcett Maris Otter, Bestmalz Pilsner, and Dingemann's Pilsner malt. All are fantastic and reasonably priced by me.
