So, everything had gone perfect, mash went smooth, boil perfect (even caught the boilover just as it was building up), quick chill, smooth transfer to fermenter. Then cleaning up I hear something hit the ground... not a shattering hit, just a soft thump... and then the sound of water flowing... odd... so I rushed over to find my racking tubing had fallen out of the kettle to the floor, with the cane still in the kettle, and the trub at the bottom flowing onto the floor.

Cursed by the perfect brewday.

Atleast I managed to catch it before it hit the carpet. Although the girlfriend didn't seem to mind, she got some more beer in the keg and got the kitchen mopped up ;-)

Heres the recipe I brewed if anyone is interested, cheers!

I once started racking into the fermenter and ran to the bathroom. I came back to find 3 gallons of beer had run onto the floor. I was fermenting in a bottling bucket and had forgotten to close the spigot. It was the best beer I ever made at that point too, and I only had 2 gallons of it.

I think it okay for men to cry over spilled beer, just not milk.
