[quote="Dirk McLargeHuge"]Here's my scaled-down-to-5-gallons version. My efficiency su-ucks (60%).

Estimated OG - 1.056
Estimated IBUs - 42

8# 2 row
3# pilsner
1# Cara-Pils
1/2# Crystal 40L
1/2# flaked wheat]
^^^
The recipe I've seen calls for wheat malt, not flaked. I wonder if it makes much difference?

Not really. I've done it both ways, and it comes out about the same.

Dirk,

since you made it, is the hop bill correct?

That's the hop bill that's floating around on the forum, and was on Fred DuJuor's website. My dad calls it Grapefruit juice. :lol:

Tasty, what would you think of replacing the two row with Maris Otter? I've brewed this a few times and the flavor comes out spectacular but the body is always a little thin. I've been mashing at 154 and considering upping that to 155-156 for my system. Would a MO substitute work to enhance body as well or would it drastically change the malt profile?

That very well could just be your system and/or your thermometer.

I don't think MO will help much with the body. Higher mash temperatur might help.

Another tip is using oats.
