Wondering if anyone can help? Did a 5 gal split batch APA, with 1/2 dry hopped in one carboy, and 1/2 without in the other. Spaced it and didn't divide the dry hops by 2, so added full amount into 1/2 batch, probably close to 3 oz mix pellet/leaf? Can I just reduce the time and take the hop bag out early, or do I need to effect more immediate repair?

Unless you are opposed to hops, you could just let it go and enjoy the extra dry hop.

You could blend them, too.
The over:bnarmy: hopped one will be real nice on its own, I'm willing to bet!

Yeah, no worries man! I typically dry hop the crap out of my hoppy beers. You will love it and never go back!

I don't see the problem here...

If you are worried about TOO much hop aroma, I guess you can pull the dry hops early. But like everybody else said, just let it ride. It's hard to over dry hop an American apa or ipa.

Instead of pulling the dry hops, I just suspend the hop bag in the keg so it only hangs about half way down inside the keg. That way when you finish the first half of the keg, the dry hopping automatically stops without you having to do anything other than to enjoy your beer.
