Recently used citra for the first time, so I did a single hop beer with it.

In short 60mins made it a little harsh, u may prefer magnum or warrior instead.. Late in the boil is where this shines! I will also use with caution as dry hop as it can be a little grassy. Also there's alot of oils, so a little goes a long way for DH.

+1. I like the flavor of the late additions, but I will never again bitter with Citra.

Brewed it last weekend. I'll post the recipe. It's now split between a BetterBottle and an open bucket in my basement with both showing a steady 66F on the outside thermometer. Planning to drop a thermowell into the BetterBottle for grins. I'll also post the pic of the open ferment, it's currently oozing over the sides. Cool.

Tasted both lat night. Gravities are 1.010 and they both are a little catty. I've never experienced that with Citra or WLP530 but I do not remember tasting any of those beers right at 2-weeks. I am racking to fresh secondaries tomorrow morning and going to dry-hop with Amarillo & Citra and then wash the yeast to repitch into a Tripel I will brew tomorrow. Hopefully the Pale Ale drops some of the catty and the tropical comes through. I'd post the recipe, but cannot figure out how to get it in a format from BeerSmith to put here.

Brewed my Belgian IPA testerday. Warrior FWH, then Palisades, Rakau and Citra through to the end of boil. Will use and oz of Citra with the other two for dry hop. Here's the change of plan. After adding a qt of 3787 slurry, that was in the fridge for 3 mos under beer, to a qt of pre boiled wort, I stir plated for 16 hrs. Yeast nutrient for starter and boil kettle. Pitched it at 70* into this beer. After 8 hrs, no sign of growth so I pitched a pack of US-05. Bubbling away now. Guess I'll call it Broken Bells IPA.
