Troeg's Nugget Nectar Recipe

Fri Mar 02, 2012 2:42 pm

Looking for advice.

Putting together recipe for this beer using BYO Oct 2011. Entered it all in Beersmith (using BYO ingredient list) and got much higher calculated IBU (Rager) versus recipe. Something like 129 vs 94. I can easily drop the 60 min hops to get 94 but looking for opinions on this. Looked at later editions for correction and put those in for the malts. OG right on, color good, just high IBU.

Thoughts appreciated

Cheers

I'd say throw the extra in right at the end, or use it to dry hop. Nugget Nectar is a terrific beer, but if you ask me it could be even better with more hop aroma. To be fair though, I think just about everything needs more hop aroma. I'm a big fan of Troegs, I live about an hour and a half from their brewery.

I'd like to hear how that turns out, you should post again when it's finished.

Good luck!
