I'm on the fly! Mainly b/c that was how I learned it and I get the best efficiency from my system with that technique.

I love to step back and have a beer while I watch the fly sparge. It's cool to see everything in motion, on its way to becoming beer. Water's flowing in from one side, and sweet wort's flowing out the other, into the heating kettle.
