Just picked up more grain than I can store at the present. I was thinking abot 5 gallon buckets with lids.
Anyone know how many pounds to a 5 gallon bucket? I have a 50# sack that won't be safe from critters for too long at my house.
Thanx

About 35 pounds will fit in a 5 gallon bucket.

Awsome! thanx.
I picked up two of the orange buckets with gasketed lids from the local Home Despot. I split the sack between them so it was 25# in each bucket. Might be able to get another couple pounds in each one but don't need to right now.

I use the rubbermaid roughneck tubs to store grains in. They're not airtight, but I go through grain fast enough that things seem fine. I can't see spending more on containers at this point in my life.

We keep the bulk grains in 5 gal buckets at work (LHBS), and I'm sorta ashamed I didn't know how much fit in a bucket. Thanks for the education Bug.
