Sweet! Thanks for the details. Can't wait to get this done. I'm out of shape and dread the crush on brew day. :)

That cart is a great idea. The problem I see with it though is the noise. That metal cart will rattle like hell. Better wear your earmuffs when running that thing!

The cart is plastic, not metal. Keeping the grain dust down is a problem I hadn't considered addressing. I'll see how it goes and deal with it if necessary.

Just received all my parts. Will get this thing built over the weekend and post pix. Since the spider coupler is plastic, should I run a ground from the motor to the mill, or is that unnecessary?

Here's the wiring diagram for my motor.
http://www.surpluscenter.com/Wire/W5-1074.jpg
They sent me a 10 MFD capacitor as well.
I want to wire two switches - one on/off and one forward reverse.
I'm using one of the orange extension cords as the power cord.

Can anyone recommend how to wire this thing up?

Thanks,
JD

I think I ordered the same motor (it's like the one in the photo at the start of this thread) - that is a much better wiring diagram sheet than I received as it indicates how to reverse motor direction.

It looks like you will have to reverse the leads to capacitor to reverse motor direction.

Why not just use a SPDT switch between the red and the blue?
