Howdy,

I just did my first All-Grain. It was a 2.5 gal batch using a cheap batch-sparge technique I figured out. I used the S.S. hose braid from a toilet supply line and attached it to some clear vinyl hose. I just tossed it in to the kettle under my grains for the mash. I just left the extra hose stick out of the pot during the mash.

I just have a quick suck on the hose (insert joke here) to start the siphon. It worked like a charm! Very clear wort.

I have pictures here: http://photos.yahoo.com/musjakey

It was cheap and easy!!! I was able to hit all of my calculated volumes and gravities thanks to Denny’s site.

Please feel free to mock my cheap ass setup.

Way to be resourceful Jacob, it never hurts to try and make what you can to brew better beer.

Good job. Nice inginuity. I think I'll use that idea soon enough for one of my two mash tuns. I'm using a 48qt cooler and I want to set up my spare 5 gallon gott. This is the right idea for me. Thanks.

Yep...really the way to go.

I'm a really cheap bastard who loves great homebrew...so, Denny pretty much saved my life.

Oh I forgot to mention....

I don't know about you guys but I definitely think the BN should have Denny on the show.

I would love to hear Doc, Jamil, and Denny debate about all grain systems.

They mentioned at NHC that there had been requests for me to be on the show and I told 'em I'd be happy to. Haven't heard anything, though.....
