Chris Colby's Jolly Rancher Lambic

Fri Sep 05, 2008 4:17 pm

Decided to give this one a try. Its supposed to be pretty good. I'm using Watermelon instead of Green Apple as Mr Colby has said these will work just fine. I'm also using WLP655 Belgian Sour Blend as I don't have the WYeast pack the recipe calls for.

I did one about 6 months ago, have tasted one or two over the last few months and every time I am surprised by the aroma coming off it. How is yours turning out?

A guy from my home brew club made mountain brew at one of the events in August. I have to say....pretty fucking weird. It tasted so much like mountain dew it was ridiculous. It wasn't bad that's for sure.

Sorry to get off topic, I didn't start it.

How is the JR brew going?

Just wondering if the auth could weigh in on the final product.
Me: I'm gonna drink a Boon Geuze.

Nope, sure can't. I posted this in Sept of 2008 and while it was aging my wife and I had our first child the following March. ...haven't brewed since. I think I ended up pouring this beer out in late 2011 from the secondary carboy. I will say it still smelled great and I considered lapping some of it up as I poured it out onto the ground behind my house.

(better late than never on this reply, right?)
