So, the good news is, Im married to a woman who can drink beer... the bad news is, the only beer she will drink is Corona. I was wondering if anyone has tried to clone it and might have a good all grain recipe. Ill admit, it has a "unique" taste. Is that due to a large amount of flaked corn? I really don't know.
Now, I am NOT looking for something that is an improvement of the beer. My wife says that she "likes the wateryness" of it, so I am not looking for lots of body, just something that I can brew for her that she will drink that will be cheaper than the real thing.

You may think that the real answer is to teach her to like good beer, but this woman is as stuborn as they come. But hey, at least she knwos what she likes.

I made one a long time ago...turned out ok.

4 pounds of pils
4 pounds of flaked maize
1 ounce saaz at 60 min
dry lager yeast (safelager?)

Mash 152 for an hour
ferment about 50 degrees until the wife cant wait any longer

Thats what I remember of this recipe. Good luck with it.

BTW everyone is gonna blast you for making this. To heck with them, its still beer.

I won't blast you, make what you like... or better yet, what she likes. Although I doubt you could make it as cheap as they do though. I could be wrong... it's happened once or twice before.



(try brewing her a cream ale and just say it's a Corona clone. Who knows she might actually like real beer and not know it.)

If you happen to have a lower hopped pale ale, you could try putting it out in the sun for 15-30 minutes and then let the wifey try it...

mayhap that will give it the flavor she wants.

Well... I take that back. Using the recipe above and using B3's online prices I come up with that being $2.22 a six pack. So... Brew it dood!

3 or so years ago I brewed this and it came out great as a Corona ish beer.

Here is one that a friend of mine did that was pretty decent too. He was trying to hook up with this girl from Puerto Rico and brewed a clone of their beer. :D
Its lighter and less body than Corona (if that is possible) so your girl may like it too.
