where to get meads?

im curious what a stellar commercial mead to try is.. i got a still, sweet one ordered by a local liqour store for $15/750mL that SUCKED!! has anyone tried the $12 bottle at bevmo? i want to make a mead, but need to find a good example to try before i blow $130 on honey if they aren't for me. so what brands and where to get? im in CA so can i order it online perhaps?

Try finding stuff from http://www.rabbitsfootmeadery.com/ They have been on the session 2 times.
