Um.
Food amazing.
Had the 16 glass sampler to start. Settled on pitchers of brown ale, kellerweis, and summerfest with friends.
Ate the wings. I love wings that show up with their fried skin still crunchy under the sauce. Excellent.
Ordered the tri-tip (you californian's and your new-fangled things). It came on a bed of gumbo and mashed potatoes (who the heck puts gumbo on mashed potatoes?).
Meat... ooooooh so good. Just the right amount of char. The cut lets this meat have a nice chew, but be tender at the same time and quite delicious. I'm told it's cows that live on their spent grain at their own farm. They are tasty cows. The gumbo was awesome, and the combo of beef on gumbo was surprisingly good. I was a bit wierded out by putting gumbo on anything but rice, but the potatoes were great. The whole dish was delicious from start to finish and I really loved the meat.
And the prices, btw, are amazingly cheap for the quality of food and atmosphere and service. It's cheaper than going to something like a Ruby Tuesday, and light years better.
