New Guy Living in Sicily

Thu Aug 13, 2015 5:52 am

I recently moved to Sicily and I'm looking for some decent beers. I've been brewing and listening to the BN in San Diego, CA for 5 years now. Can't wait to start brewing again here in Sicily.

Welcome! I have heard there is a pretty big craft beer resurgence in Italy. Have you come across any interesting brews?

Most of the bigger breweries are in northern Italy. I haven't found too much in Sicily. It's still pretty rural here. I've found one small brewery that distributes locally but it looked like their stuff was single malt beers and they make up the alcohol with a lot of sugar. I did find a a decent brew pub in Acireale called La Caverna del Mastro Birriao.
