Greetings all. My name is Milt and my brother Mort got me into this crazy hobby. We did our first brew last weekend and it went pretty good, we thought. I'm anxious to try the beer when it's all done.
I am Mort's younger brother. I left the family farm after high school and moved away to learn the carpentry trade. Eventually, I moved back closer to home and started my own business. We do most kinds of general construction from concrete jobs to home construction. We get a lot of remodeling jobs and re-roofing is another specialty. I also help Mort out on the place during the busier seasons like planting and harvest and care of the truck garden. I am married and have one son who is still living with us.
Mort bought all the brewing equipment and I plan to contribute by setting up a brew shed. There is an old chicken coop out on the place we are going to insulate and fix up to house our brewery. Being in the business, I have left-over materials from jobs, so it's mostly a matter of time. I am also on the hunt for a restaurant type exhaust hood to go over the brewing area. It's going to be a project because it needs the roof re-done, the wiring up-dated and probably a window, or two.
I have been enjoying reading your posts and learning a lot. I figured it was time for me to contribute, as well.
