Hey all,
I've been brewing since last June and I'm loving it. I'm using extract and working that to get my process down. I discovered the BN about a month ago and listen to you guys all throughout my work day. Tons of great info and very entertaining. Keep up the good work!

Welcome! How many batches you have under you belt by now? If you have questions, ask them!

You won't be too far from some decent Breweries in the Clevleand area Nervous dad. And even closer to a pretty solid Beer store/bar called Lizardville - they also have over 100 whiskys & scotches if that's your thing. What brings you to OH?

Well I started with 1 gallon batches because of a kit I received as a gift. I quickly purchased a few 1 gallon fermenters and brewed a couple of batches. I'd say I've brewed 7 batches under that system with a variety of results. Recently an Irish stout I brewed under that system came out really well. A while ago I purchased an inexpensive 3 gallon pot and now I'm doing a concentrated boil and diluting it into a 6.5 gallon bucket and I like that much more. More beer and it's much easier to take a hydrometer reading without significant oxidation. I've brewed a special bitter in 5 gallons and I'm currently fermenting a El Dorado Hop test batch. Just took a gravity reading and it's close to my target gravity. I tried my sample and it has a much more significant hop aroma and flavor than some of my past batches.

Thanks everyone for the support. I'm from Cleveland, living in Cincinnati, but I'm looking to move back to Cleveland in less than a years time. I'm from Bay Village which is three cities west of Downtown. There's a ton of great beer places in Cleveland and I can reaffirm that Lizardville is spectacular. Also Rozi's in Lakewood is really good. Maybe a little far for mayfield area

Welcome! I'm near Akron, not too far from Nasty Nate. Keep on brewing and growing as a brewer. Fermentation is 90% of brewing. Feel free to ask anything here, at least 10 people will answer with 20 opinions.

I'm glad there is a beer scene in Ohio

I'm potentially leaving a pretty good one, if my wife gets a job offer.
