I just wanted to say hello from Lancaster County, PA where the Amish are plentiful and the beer laws suck.

Alright I'll bite. How bad do the beer laws suck?

Until the last few years, buying a 6 pack was unheard of. Things are changing a bit, but it used to be the ONLY place you could buy beer was from a beer distributor... by the case. And usually their hours aren't great, so you have to plan ahead much more, otherwise you ended up out of beer for the entire weekend. Much harder to just try something new, since you had to commit to a full case, so definitely pushes more towards buying cheap stuff.

Welcome!
How close are you to the Dutch Honey Gold facility? I bought some honey from them recently for mead and it seems like a great place. I believe they are the supplier for Moonlight Meadery here in NH. Their other location (McClure's) is here in NH about 2 hours away.
Do the Amish look down on you for drinking alcohol?

They'd have to since you'd be drunk & laying in the street.

Spider is correct, you can only buy cases of beer unless you purchase a 6 pack from a bar, which charges you $14 for craft beer. Dutch Gold is right down the street but they are mainly a distributor, they don't have a storefront. I do some landscaping for them and they are great to work for. I was tempted to asked to be paid in honey to make mead, but my wife would not be too happy when I came home with 100 lbs of honey instead of cash.

Use the words investment & lucrative... and possibly a couple others that sound fancy but you really just made up. The key point is to have her 4 glasses into the mead by that point. You'll be fine
