Great site! Just found the site and think it is great. I am an Army wife and mom (both husband and son in the army) and live at Fort Bliss Texas. I have been brewing my own beer now for a few years with great success. Not much to really tell about me, my hobbies include brewing, riding my harley and my horses.

Justin,
what kinds of beers do you make? I make just about everything that isnt the german type. right now i have a red ale and american light type conditioning in the bottles and fixing to bottle a pilsner type ale. I live in far west Texas so I am limited on making ales during the summer months, which here is like from mid feb to late nov. I also do a lager type ale and fixing to start work on a signature beer of my own. Need to run. TTYL....Angelia

Hey Angelia,

I brew mostly ales also. No lagers as I don't have any temp controlled space to do it yet. My favorites to brew are IPA's and other hoppy ales. I also brew a really nice helles type of ale that came out great. I used all munich helles ingredients, but doubled all the hops, used cal ale yeast, and dry hopped it with amarillo too. I think that has been my best brew yet. I have it fermenting again now, but it's been real warm here so I'm not sure how it's gona turn out.

Justin...
Where do you live? I am not much into the hoppier beers, at least not to make. My husband likes the plain jane no taste type beers so that is what I make mostly. I am not much of a beer drinker, or at least wasnt. I guess it depends on what taste I am going for as to the hops I use. Course that kinda goes along with the yeast as well. I use both dry and liquid yeasts and I think in the heat here in El Paso liquid yeast tends to work better than the dry at least in the summer. Well need to run and get my day started. Have a great day! Angelia

Please, the next time you speak with your son and husband thank them from all of us for their bravery and service to our country. Men like them are the true heros.

First, Dittos to what Popester said above.

It's great to see more women getting into homebrewing. In my local homebrew club, there are now 2 women members, and one is even an officer! Typically the women there are the wives or girlfriends of the brewers.
