Have you made the all grain version yet? I am curious how the two compared. I made your mini-mash version and got raves from my family and friends, they really loved it. As I am now doing just all grain batches, I was thinking of making it again as an all grain. I came up with this recipe conversion, let me know how it compares with yours

10# Pilsen malt
.5# carafoam
.5# munich malt
1 oz Hallertauer hops (60 min)
.5 oz Hallertauer hops (5 min)
.5 oz Hallertauer hops (1 min)
Whirlfloc tablet
WLP001 Cal Ale yeast

mash at 152 degrees for 30 min in 14.29 quarts of water

However, if it does not taste as good, maybe I will just stick with the "award winning" mini-mash version.

Fuzzy, I have brewed the AG version of my recipe...and I was really disappointed about the result...Instead of a nice Blonde I got a Killer Bock, really strong...
The reason might be, that I added some extra yummy grains to the bill....so I had like 29lb of grain for 10 gallons...it was insane...but I wanted to go with the extra Munich because I wanted to make the colour nice...
Justin and Dr. Scott told me they really liked the Bock, especially now, that the beer, I call it "Get that freakin shit out of my face or I will start puking over your hands beer" has mellowed out a little bit over the past couple of weeks.
What bothers me the most about how it turned out is, that the alcohol flavour is extremley strong...and I don't remember a Bock being that way...I understand it is a heavy beer...but it could be a smooth taste still...

The conversion you have calculated looks very different than mine if I remember it right...: I know off the top of my head that I have used more grain, therefore needed to adjust my hops (which I did not like at all) so I threw some Saaz in there...and also I mashed for 60 minutes at 152...let me try to find the recipe in our beer chaos at home and I will post it...But ACHTUNG...it is a heafty heafty beer...

Sounds like you pulled a "Justin"! "A little of this, let me change that... oh wait have to adjust that...". I do that all the time.

I thought you wanted to brew the same beer over and over until it's perfect? go back to the beginning grasshopper...

Good for you, just like a German should! Precise, and with small quantifiable changes.

And oh yeah, use Promash :)

I almost sprayed coke all over my keyboad. I love that name and think you should use it when you enter your next comp.
And of course congrats on your silver medal. You earned it just by putting up with Justins crap.
