There's a Goose Island brew pub in O'hare on one of the concourses. (Concourse B maybe?) I had more tham a couple layovers there and always stop by that pub when I have the time.

For the El, you'd have to take the pink line downtown first, then the blue line up to O'hare. Most likely looking at more than an hour's time doing that.

Wandering off topic, but somebody should make a nice list of all the brewpubs in the major airports and their locations (e.g.Goose Island in Ohare, Sweetwater in Atlanta, Schlafly in STL, Boston Beer Works in Boston, etc.). Would be handy when planning travel. Or if something like this already exists, I'd love a link.

For what it's worth, last time we drove in to Chicago we did Goose Island Clybourn and the Binny's right there. I enjoyed it.

I use google transit to navigate my way around the city. It does a good job coordinating the bus/train issues. Haven't used a day pass. Still mildly public transit retarded.

Sounds like a tight schedule.

You might try getting them to drop you off at Binnys - Lincoln park and take a cab to the Map Room (1.5 miles). It's a short walk to the blue line from there which will take you to Ohare.

The mission was a success! Not sure how I did on the interview, due to the fact that I cannot read body language or pick up on subtleties. Anywho... Here is the Booty Call:

Lost Abbey - Avante Garde (looking to increase my beir de garde, and saison horizen)
left hand - milk stout on nitro (donated by those performing the tasting, thanks guys!)
Fort collins - maibock (LOVE this style, getting ready to brew one from BCS in feb)
3 floyds - dreaunaught (been wanting to try some of their stuff for a minute)
3 floyds - arctic panzer wolf (didnt realize I got two IIPA from them..)
jolly pumpkin - maracaibo especial (wanted something other than BAM by them)
ass kisser - double ipa (yes, i bought it for the label, hope it dont suck completely)
big muddy - saluki dunkeldog (had to give IL some love, another style i wanna get into)

All of them survived transit, even though I was stressing about making my flight, which was delayed from 7pm until 11:15.

I did goto Haymarket (thanks soldiers!), which was absolutely amazing! All of that guy's beers were definitely NOT the ordinary. He is VERY aggressive with his hops (just try that pils) which I loved!

I had a woman cab driver to take me from the interview over to Haymarket. Needless to say, I go outta the cab when it was over $40 and walked the 15ish min to the pub. Then trecked down to Binny's, which is awesome that they have a bar in the beer store! It was most needed after that walk. Had a sheep shagger (had to get it, having been in a fraternity and all..) by Tyranena in Wisconsin (damn, I miss living in that state).

Thanks again for your advice, it is MOST appreciated. Be on the look out for my finding a place to live post, if I happen to get and accept the job... Also, I put up another post, as tomorrow takes me to middle of nowhere Ca for another interview (I wish interviewing was my professional job!)
