can't access chat

so i just installed java 7 update 45, the x86 version (64 bit did not seem to work) and was able to get into the chat program with no problem.

I have JAVA 8 update 25, can I downgrade to 7 update 45?

yeah you can, you just need to uninstall it then install the 7 update 45

I made changes to some chat invocation code on the advice of the chat provider, I'm interested in hearing if anyone that had an impossible situation is aided by this, or if it causes new problems.

Well my computer won't let me update to Java 8. I'm on Java 7.71 and its working good. Strange that it won't let me go back to Java 8 tho.
