How would you rate your own homebrew?

It's homebrew. It's not as good as commercial beer.

It's just as good as my local brewery's beer, but not at the level of the best craft beer.

Poll; how would you rate your own homebrew?

Tue Sep 19, 2017 8:18 am

Hi all,

I find it difficult to impartially evaluate my own beers. I always think the next batch is going to be the best beer ever, and when it's not, I'm usually a little disappointed and quite critical.

I'm by far my own harshest critic.

I am almost never satisfied with how my beer comes out. It gets very discouraging sometimes.

I think that if I thought my stuff was awesome all the time, I would clearly just be deluding myself or be some ego maniac.

I was honest. I too am my own worst critic. My beer usually sucks. I brew for the once-in-a-while when my beer is actually stellar, which is... maybe 25-30% of the time. I experiment a lot, too, and rarely make the same recipe twice, so I haven't been able to hone every recipe to perfection... yet....

My final products can definitely be hit or miss. Like Dave, I rarely brew the same recipe twice (or often) so it is hard to hone in on making each one killer.
