Broke my new scale

I just got a new AWS-100 digital scale, and I was using it to measure some yeast nutrient tonight. It worked great! Out of the box measured 1ml of distilled water at 1.02g; I was using a baby medicine syringe so it may have been a tad over 1ml who knows.
I was putting it away and was wiping the nutrient powder off the surface and threw the damned thing on the floor. Now the screen says OUTZ meaning it's out of zero. Booklet says either it needs calibration or the sensor has experienced permanent damage.

*sigh* I was super stoked about it too because I could better weigh hops and salts with .01g accuracy, AND it would weigh in grains so I could use it for reloading ammo instead of my crappy beam scale. So fn distraught. UGH!

That sucks.

Try taking the batteries out for a few minutes, then put them back in and restart it.
You never know, it might be enough for it to recycle and self adjust.

Wouldn't hurt anything to try. Taking them out now.

And? Did that work?

Lesson to be learned here... NEVER weigh things out on the scale surface. Use a small bit of waxed paper or aluminum foil folded into a weigh boat, then you don't need to wipe stuff off the surface and throw it on the floor ever again.
