The best thing ever is that hillbillies figured out how to use video cameras and uploaded them to youtube. I have family that I'd love to send a video camera to, just to record a day or two of their lives.

Wow. Just wow.

Where does spermicide fit into the BJCP guidelines? Or is that just a substitute for the hops?

1 pound of finely ground malt
11 cups of sugar
1 packet of yeast
1 condom with hole poked in it
5 gallons of city water
1 half-hearted shake

10 days later - beer that tastes just like Budweiser with bubbles and all.

if i understand his process correctly - and i'm not sure how i do - he's rehydrating his dry yeast in concentrated sugar water. shouldn't that kill the yeast?

i started typing up a comment pointing out how many problems there are with this process, and how he could improve it... but i didn't bother hitting "submit". it'll only attract defensive, derisive replies. it's not like this guy is going to change his ways, and he likes what he's making. i also fear coming across as a snooty know-it-all, instead of the helpful guy i'm trying to be. oh well. live and let live.

He definitely doesn't have the facilities to ensure that it's healthy.
