Don't send via USPS, that is indeed a federal felony.

Open an online account with UPS or FedEx and pack your own boxes. Wrap bottles in bubble wrap, cushion the space between the bottles and seal. Weigh the box and setup the shipment online. Print the label and drop it off at your local dropoff point. You shouldn't have any problems.

+1 for what Drew said.

FedEx seems to be pretty popular and has always worked for me. I print labels at home and they've never asked me what's in the box. If they ever do ask, I've heard good answers to give are: snow globes, olive oil, and best of all, yeast samples.

Here are a couple sites with good tips:

I use UPS, and even have claimed the "Yeast Samples for Evaluation".

But yes, pack your own boxes, and take them to a drop off location.

You also may want to put each bottle in a zip lock bag jsut in case there is breakage it doesn't leak.

I put the bubble wrapped bottles in a garbage bag and tie it up.
